Inside this issue:

Winter of 2004

There is no shortage of issues in the winter of 2004. Suddenly the future of inductions in dairy practice has been an issue of concern to many. Cutting through the regulatory jargon shows that, for this season at least, there is little change.

This is explained fully inside this issue, thanks to advice from ACVMG.

Another issue with ACVMG has been the conditions on the label of Marbocyl Bolus. An article in this issue clarifies this completely and shows exactly how to use the product.

With a major petfood brand now available to supermarkets and also a farmshop supplier trying to drag

our flagship product into a price war that cannot ultimately benefit veterinarians it is pertinent to look at the whole issue of veterinary retailing.

This is particularly relevant in the light of the current veterinary prescribing issue and also ties in with the decade old loyalty of Ethical Agents Ltd of keeping the flagship products, Calol, Supercoat and Diaproof K vet only.

In fact EA are celebrating 10 years of Calol this season and the fact that, despite intense pressure, it has only ever been marketed via veterinarians with fullmarketing support from the company. .

Along with the above mentioned news this week that one of the great big names in the pet food business is now going into supermarkets there is no better time to reiterate EA’s commitment to the veterinary profession.

This is especially relevant with the recent launch of many new and exciting lines from Supercoat; super food for super dogs.

Quality

Excellence, superiority, class, eminence, value, worth. These are all synonyms for quality, all implying a high standard.

Quality may be in performance of a medication in that it is proven to be safe as well as highly effective

Quality may be in service such as responding to market needs and delivering convenient pack sizes.

Quality may be in marketing such as educating end users to product features and benefits, and also in disease

Quality may be in supply as in creating a guaranteed form of supply chain and being true to that chain for 10 years.

Quality is Calol! Loyal, safe, effective, convenient, as well as superior, excellent, value.
